Meaning

Another girl is scolded: has she not heard the birds chattering everywhere, or the sound of the cowherd women churning curds, their fragrant hair swaying and their coin-strung ornaments jingling as they pull the churning rope? She is supposed to be their leader, yet while they sing of Narayana, of Kesava, she lies there simply listening. Radiant girl, open the door.
