Meaning
They call to a girl apparently so full of merit she is entering heaven by her austerities, yet she will not even answer or open the gate. If they praise Narayana, whose crown carries fragrant tulasi, that holy one will grant their drum. They joke that Kumbhakarna, who long ago fell into the jaws of Death, must have lost his famous sleep to her as a prize, and they beg this rare jewel of a girl to shake off her drowsiness and come open the door steadily.
