Meaning
They call to Nappinnai, daughter-in-law of Nandagopa — the herdsman strong as a rutting elephant, whose shoulders never flee a fight — and beg her, the girl whose hair breathes fragrance, to open the inner door. The roosters are crowing everywhere, and flocks of koels on the madhavi vine have called again and again. Let this girl whose fingers still hold her playing ball come gladly, her lovely bangles ringing on her lotus hands, and open, while they sing the names of her beloved.
