உறவேல் நமக்கு இங்கு ஒழிக்க ஒழியாது *
அறியாத பிள்ளைகளோம் அன்பினால் * உன் தன்னை
சிறுபேர் அழைத்தனவும் சீறியருளாதே *

Meaning
They confess who they are: simple folk who follow the cattle into the forest and eat there, a cowherd clan with no learning at all; and yet what merit is theirs, that he chose to be born among them. With Govinda, who lacks nothing, the bond of kinship between him and them can never be dissolved. If out of artless love they have called him by small familiar names, let the Lord not be angry, but give them the drum.
