One sequence, kept simple
What this Margazhi calendar does
A commonly followed Margazhi practice moves through Andal’s 30 Tiruppavai pasurams in order as a 30-step sequence: pasuram 1 first, continuing through pasuram 30. This page keeps that sequence in one place and connects every step to its complete public-domain Tamil reading page.
Margazhi and Dhanurmasam
Margazhi is the Tamil name used throughout this calendar. The corresponding devotional season is also called Dhanurmasam or Dhanurmas in many communities. “Tiruppavai” and “Thiruppavai” are alternate English spellings of the same work.
Use the opening cue
Each row gives only a short Tamil opening phrase to help you recognise the pasuram. Open the linked reading page for the complete text; this calendar does not reproduce full verses, commentary or audio.
Keep the return gentle
If a day is missed, continue with the next pasuram in your own sequence rather than doubling the load automatically. When a family, teacher or temple follows a particular order, let that guidance take precedence.
A repeatable daily rhythm
Read once. Recall once. Return tomorrow.
This short routine adds structure without turning Margazhi practice into a race. Follow the level of detail appropriate to you.

Days 1–30
Your Margazhi Tiruppavai checklist
Move through the rows in order, unless the local calendar or temple schedule you follow assigns them differently. The opening phrase is a recognition cue; select the pasuram number to open its full Tamil text.
Use the panchangam or temple schedule followed by your household; follow its order if it adapts the final days. Tick one box after each completed reading.

Stay with the sequence
Three useful checkpoints
After day 10
Test the return
Try the opening cues for days 1–10 in mixed order. Reopen only the pages whose starts do not return steadily.
After day 20
Protect earlier days
Choose one early, one middle and one recent pasuram for a brief recall. Keep review smaller than the new day’s practice.
After day 30
Choose what continues
Mark the pasurams that need another pass and set a realistic return date. Completion can begin a review cycle rather than end one.
